Great Band You Forgot: The Metros

The Metros, from Detroit, had a really catchy punk n' roll sound. They put out one of the best albums ever released on Rip Off Records. Yet nobody seemed to notice, and the band disbanded with little fanfare in the year 2000. I don't know why The Metros never picked up the same level of hype as some of their "big name" labelmates. I don't understand why nobody talks about The Metros anymore, or even remembers them. They were the shit! Remember this one?

How about this one?

Let's show The Metros some love!

Yeah yeah yeah! Loved and still love this band. A shame they were overlooked. Classic LP and the two singles I have rule! Neat cover of "Looking For Danger" (The Pack) on their second single. Get these records if you don't already!

Josh, I ALMOST forgot. Thanks for remminding me...Their sound reminded me of THE GAZELLES too... "Lay" has a "Cant Stand the Midwest"sorta riff that makes me wanna punch a wall. Those were some really cool pics of their show too.

yeah, there's some kinda Bermuda Triangle action going on with that album; cause I have it, but I've only listened to it once or twice and at least once a year I think "Oh yeah, I should put that on my mp3 player and check it out again" but I've never done it...
